Surojit Bose

Surojit Bose is a seasoned sustainability and ESG leader with over 25 years of experience across PwC, EY, Coca-Cola, and TCS. He brings deep expertise in climate risk, energy transition, water stewardship, and the circular economy, with a track record of working with leading corporates and global financial institutions including IFC, ADB, and the World Bank.

He has held regional and global leadership roles in corporate sustainability, including serving as Coca-Cola’s Global Climate Expert and as a member of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) team. His work spans Extended Producer Responsibility as a member of PACE and AARC; ESG due diligence and impact assessments across more than 150 engagements; water stewardship programmes delivering over 70 billion litres of annual replenishment; and life cycle assessments across sectors such as iron and steel, pulp and paper, natural fibres, plastics, and glass. He has also led human rights initiatives across complex agricultural supply chains, including sugar.

A recognised thought leader and practitioner in ESG management, sustainable development, CSR, and human rights, Surojit has extensive experience in sustainable agriculture across sugar, mango, and agroforestry projects covering over 100,000 acres, as well as sustainability operations across more than 350 industries globally. His operational expertise includes energy efficiency, water conservation, and advanced water and effluent treatment and recirculation systems.

Surojit has held several fiduciary and advisory roles, including leading circularity and climate awards for FICCI, the Indian Chamber of Commerce, and CII; serving on the Sustainable Finance Committee of BIS; and contributing to the GHG Protocol of WRI, including the GHG Corporate Standard and UNFCCC methodologies. He has led over 150 Clean Development Mechanism projects, collectively delivering approximately 40 million tonnes per annum of carbon credits transacted under the EU ETS.

His contributions have been widely recognised through numerous awards, including Coca-Cola’s Most Inclusive Sustainability Champion and recognition as one of India’s Most Influential Sustainability Leaders at the World Sustainability Congress. He has also received multiple platinum awards for leadership in water, climate action, EPR, and inclusive growth.

He currently serves as a Jury Member for the Vanguard Awards 2025, Lead Assessor for the FICCI Circular Economy Awards, and is a frequent speaker at IIMs, IITs, ISI, and national and international forums. He has chaired the FICCI Circular Economy Committee for two years and has been a member of the Bengal Chamber Committee on Environment.

Surojit holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Louisiana State University, USA, and a Bachelor of Technology (Honours) from IIT Kharagpur. He is also a Cost Accountant (ICWAI), an Advocate recognised by the Bar Council of India, a Certified Water Professional under the Alliance for Water Stewardship, a BEE-certified Energy Auditor, and an ISO 14001 Certified Auditor.
