Project with A Large Multilateral Agency on Private Sector Engagement in Inland Waterways

The Client, an international financial institution and multilateral agency that provides loans and grants to the governments of low- and middle-income countries to pursue capital projects, wanted to harness the prospects of an underutilized water transportation network in a state in India. The State Government, in partnership with the agency, envisaged Roll-on Roll-off (RORO) vessel operations across the State’s waterways. Intueri is engaged in the project by the multilateral agency as a consulting partner to provide a complete assessment for the fructification of the project.  

For the same, Intueri was engaged in the development of: 

• Landscape Evaluation of inland waterways transport in the State and a comprehensive Market Assessment Report 
• Preliminary Market Sounding for private sector involvement, including logistical assessment and investment-pattern identification 
• Identification and Comparative Analysis of Global Best Practices and mapping out the same onto the current market scenarios 
• Assessment and Development of business models and indicative scenarios for the Ro-Ro operations in the State
